Shincheonji reiterates believers’ duty this year: “Let us deliver God’s light”

- Declared 2026 as the Year of Fulfilling Our Duty at the New Year’s Eve Service
- Called to fulfill the role of the “tree of life that leads all people to heaven” 



Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (hereafter Shincheonji Church of Jesus; Chairman Lee Man-hee) spoke about the New Year’s Eve service according to the Bible and called for believers of this era to fulfill their duties. 


Chairman Lee led the New Year’s Eve service held on 1 January at the Shincheonji Yeongdeungpo Church, where he announced the slogan for 2026—the year of the red horse—as the “Year of Fulfilling Our Duty.” He urged the congregation to testify to the duty of believers as recorded in the Book of Revelation and to fulfill the duties in the coming year.


The chairman said, “The biblical meaning of sending off the old and welcoming the new goes beyond simply transitioning from one year to the next as viewed by the world,” and further explained that, “from a religious perspective, it refers to the end of one era and the beginning of a new one, which holds greater meaning to God.”


He mentioned, “In Revelation 6, an era ends with the sun, moon, and stars falling, while in chapter 7, a new era begins through the sealing and creation of the 12 tribes.” He added, “In Revelation 7, the sealed 12 tribes appear in the world, so the good time of sending off the old and welcoming the new has arrived.”


Chairman Lee also explained that the Book of Revelation records a promise that God will grant eternal life through the tree of life at the good era of sending off the old and welcoming the new.


He stated, “As God said He will be with the 12 tribes of Revelation 7, if we belong to the 12 tribes, we can attain eternal life,” while pointing out that “lacking proper understanding of this has led some to say that one goes to heaven simply by dying.” 


He additionally explained that “12 tribes are the tree of life described in Revelation 22 that bears 12 crops of fruit every month as well,” and that “God promised to work through this tree of life to heal all nations and grant eternal life.” 


Chairman Lee emphasized, “Shincheonji, which mastered Revelation, is the fulfilled reality of the 12 tribes and the tree of life.” He added, “The only way to save people who cannot enter heaven because they added to or took away from Revelation is the tree of life,” and stated, “Therefore, we have to fulfill our duty as the tree of life.” 


Chairman Lee said toward the end, “Let us spread this light (word) into the world.” He highlighted once more, saying, “Let us help others become the family of God by coming to the light after seeing, hearing, and understanding it.”
