Shincheonji Word Seminar draws 7,500 to Cheongju… attending pastors pour out repentance
- Fourth time this year… 1,000-seat hall filled early, outdoor area opened
- Pastors confess: “Ashamed,” “Confirmed there is nothing wrong with Shincheonji”

Shincheonji, Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Chairman: Man Hee Lee, hereafter Shincheonji Church of Jesus), held the “Testimony on the Fulfilled Realities of Revelation, Shincheonji’s Bible Seminar” at Shincheonji Cheongju Church on the 27th.
This Bible Seminar drew a crowd of over 7,500, including pastors, congregation members, and local residents, making it a great success. According to Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the 1,000-seat main hall on the fourth floor of the Cheongju Church was fully booked early, and the outdoor space had to be opened as well.
Chairman Man Hee Lee, who stood on the podium that day, stated, “The book of Revelation explains God’s strict warning not to add to or subtract from it,” and urged, “If one is a pastor, one must be able to answer questions from saints based on the Bible and must know the physical fulfillment of Revelation.” He further emphasized, “Rather than condemning Shincheonji as heretical while adding to and subtracting from Revelation, let us determine who is orthodox and who is heretical through a public test.”
Chairman Lee’s powerful lecture on the fulfillment of Revelation continued for over an hour, with continuous applause and "Amens" from the audience. After the lecture, attending pastors poured out repentance.
Pastor Yoseph Noh (alias, 60s, Presbyterian), who serves in the Presbyterian Church, said, “I deeply regret that I misunderstood Shincheonji and the promised shepherd and joined other pastors in criticizing them,” and reflected, “As a pastor, I feel ashamed that I did not even try to understand or learn.”
Pastor Dongcheol Han (alias, 60s), also from the Presbyterian Church, said, “I used to think Shincheonji was a place that didn’t even sing praise and that it lacked God and Jesus,” and added, “Seeing the Chairman give glory moved me, and I felt this was true faith.”
Pastor Eunseok Kim (alias, 70s, Presbyterian), who came from Gwangju, remarked, “After coming in person, I confirmed for myself that the person the world calls a cult leader is not such,” and said, “I hope to have more opportunities to understand.”
Pastor Dongsu Lee (alias, 50s), from an interdenominational background, confessed, “I believe pastors from traditional denominations do not acknowledge Shincheonji out of their own selfishness,” and said, “In terms of the Word, there was nothing wrong with Shincheonji.”
Many were surprised by the level of the Word and expressed their desire to receive education directly.
Pastor Noah Hong (alias, 80s, Presbyterian) said, “The Chairman is 15 years older than I am, but seeing him deliver the message with such strength and conviction makes me believe the Holy Spirit is with him,” and added, “I want to properly learn and perceive the true meaning and fulfillment of Revelation so that I too can preach it powerfully.”
Cheolmin Im (alias, 50s, Presbyterian), a saint, shared, “I feel like I’ve been deceived and have mistaken falsehood for truth throughout my decades of faith,” and added, “After coming today, I understand why people say Shincheonji’s Word is the best, and I want to learn it properly.”
Ms. Haetnim Lee (alias, 40s, Holiness Church), who attended the event through an invitation from a Shincheonji acquaintance, said, “The bright faces of the saints and each high-level sermon were touching and made me envious in comparison to my church,” and confessed, “I want to learn this Word and restore my faith.”
This was the fourth Shincheonji’s Bible Seminar held this year, with over 2,000 pastors having participated so far. A representative from Shincheonji Church of Jesus stated, “Pastors are continuing to change by confirming the Word for themselves and repenting,” and added, “We will continue to actively provide opportunities for exchange and learning.”
