[2026-04-02] The Eternal Love of God and Jesus — Love Even Your Enemies
Jesus’ most important teaching is ‘love’ (Mt 22:37-39, Jn 13:34). Jesus said to love even our enemies as ourselves.
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jn 3:14–16),
and Jesus bore the cross on behalf of the sinners (Ref. Mt 27). What, then, do we offer to Jesus? As children of God, what kind of image of light should we reveal as those called to live as the heirs of this world?
In worldly terms, I (the Promised Shepherd) am a descendant of the Joseon royal family, which has maintained a history of approximately 500 years. Jesus, the Son of God, came as the King of the Jews (Ref. Mt 2:2, Mt 27:11, Jn 18:37). This does not refer to a political king (Jn 18:36), but to the Savior who will save the Jews. Then, we who have become God’s children are also those born of a royal seed. Like Jesus, the Son of God, we too must reflect the light (see John 12:46),
and this will be the evidence that we are born of the royal seed. Examine yourselves in the light of the Scriptures.
Even if one has a history of royal lineage, can it truly be proof of being a descendant of a royal family if their actions do not reflect it? Before claiming to be of royal descent, one’s behavior should first show the character worthy of it. What is the use of being called a descendant of a royal family if one’s actions are base and unworthy? Whether one is truly of royal lineage or not will be revealed by their actions.
In every era, the one sent by God witnessed the fulfillment of the prophecies (promises) and their realities and came to testify to them. Therefore, the believers were to believe in that testimony. The same is true today at the time of the fulfillment of Revelation. Since all people have sinned (original sin, inherited sin, and personal sin), they must be born again through the seed of God’s word and be re-created. Among all nations, the only place that is created according to the New Testament Revelation and masters it is Shincheonji. It is written that if anyone adds to or takes away from the Book of Revelation, they will not enter heaven but will receive curses (plagues) (Rv 22:18–19). Have not the theological doctors, pastors, and believers of traditional churches added to or taken away from this book? They all have. And if they have done so, they cannot enter heaven. They must repent and be born again through the revealed word of the New Testament. Have they truly been born again—both in spirit and in flesh?
Just as God and Jesus are the Light (Ref. Jn 1:1–4; Jn 8:12), we too are the light of the world (Mt 5:14). As God’s children, we who are saints of Shincheonji should shine the light of life in this dark world and lead many people to salvation. Also, God and Jesus are love (1 Jn 4:16, Jn 13:34). Following the eternal love of God and Jesus, who commanded us to love even our enemies, let the saints of Shincheonji pray without ceasing and freely preach the revealed word of the New Testament, so that we may show love even to those who persecute us and lead them to heaven and eternal life. This is the light that makes Shincheonji known. Amen.
