[2026-06-02] Why Didn’t People Believe the Promised Pastor of the First or Second Comings?

According to Mt 13, Jesus spoke of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven in parables to hide them from those who must not know them. Of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven that he gave in parables, there are the two kinds of seed. God’s seed is His word, and the devil’s seed is his word (Ref. Lk 8:11). Because there are two kinds of seed, there came to be two kinds of word: true words (the truth) and false words (lies). Moreover, because there are two kinds of spirit, there came to be two kinds of people: those on God’s side and those on the devil’s side. Of them, those on the devil’s side are making this world of religion chaotic with their lies.


The Jewish pastors back at the time of the first coming called Jesus, who had mastered the Old Testament, a heretic. Yet, who was the real heretic? Today, at the time of Revelation’s fulfillment, Shincheonji has appeared as promised, and it masters the New Covenant, Revelation. However, people who have added to and subtracted from Revelation—the pastors of the Catholic and Protestant Churches—have also called Shincheonji, which masters Revelation, a cult. It says that anyone who adds to or subtracts from the New Covenant Revelation cannot enter the kingdom of heaven and will be cursed (receive plagues) (Rv 22:18-19). Who is the real cult? Tell the truth. This world (the world of Christianity) is truly a chaotic and bewildering place. 


Shincheonji has made several suggestions to the pastors of the Catholic and Protestant Churches to take a public exam on the New Covenant Revelation to verify who is orthodox and who is heretical, but not a single person has accepted yet. If we take a public Bible exam, who the true believers, that is, the orthodox, and who the lying believers, that is, the heretical, are will be revealed. Shincheonji is confident that it will triumph on an exam on the revealed word a thousand, indeed ten thousand times over. Shincheonji is the only place that masters the New Covenant Revelation.


Why didn’t believers at Jesus’ first or second comings believe in the promised pastor? It’s because they had a serious lack of understanding of the Bible. At the first coming, the Jews, who were waiting for the savior (the promised pastor), didn’t understand the Bible (the Old Testament). Therefore, when Jesus, the actual savior, came, instead of believing him, they persecuted him, calling him a heretic, and killed him. Today, Christians are waiting for the Lord’s second coming. Yet, Jesus has already returned as a spirit (Rv 1) and fulfilled the New Covenant, Revelation, as promised. Furthermore, he has testified the fulfilled realities (actual entities) of Revelation to the churches through his chosen pastor (the promised pastor) (Rv 22:8, 16). Despite this, the traditional churches, lacking understanding of the New Testament (and Revelation in particular), haven’t believed this. Just as the rebellious people of Israel at the first coming neither listened to nor believed what Jesus said as described in Ez 3, the Catholic and Protestant Churches also haven’t believed the promised pastor’s word of testimony; instead, they have persecuted him, calling him a heretic, and have tried to kill him—just like at the time of the first coming. It is written in Rv 11 that people would also kill the promised pastor at the time of the Lord’s second coming. 


In the four gospels, Jesus said that the time of the Lord’s second coming would be like the times of Noah and Lot (Lk 17:26-30). At those times, people eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, and building houses without a care in the world, but were then destroyed with a flood and with fire and sulfur. Today, at the time of the Lord’s second coming, traditional Christians have no interest in or understanding of the New Covenant Revelation, so they are unaware of the fact that Jesus has returned and fulfilled the New Testament. Just as the Jews did to Jesus at the first coming, traditional Christians today do nothing but call the promised pastor a heretic. It’s clear what their consequence will be. 


Today, everyone in the Catholic and Protestant Churches, which call Shincheonji and the promised pastor a cult, has added to and subtracted from the New Covenant Revelation. Thus, they cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. Shincheonji, however, masters the true meanings of the word of promise (the prophecies) throughout the New Covenant Revelation, as well as its realities. Shincheonji has overcome the world (the world of traditional Christianity) with the truth (the revealed word).


Believers at the first and second comings didn’t believe the promised pastor because they lacked understanding of the Bible. I pray that any believer who hopes for the kingdom of heaven today—the time of the Lord’s second coming and the time of Revelation’s fulfillment—will hear and understand the fulfilled realities of the New Covenant Revelation and the revealed word that the promised pastor of Shincheonji testifies so they may enter the kingdom of heaven with us. Amen.

The Promised Pastor of the Old and New Testaments   The promised pastor of the Old Testament was Jesus (Ez 3, Mt 15:24), and the promised pastor of the New Testament is New John (Rv 22:8, 16).
