[0708] Shincheonji Church of Jesus Steps Up for Summer Blood Crisis... Nationwide Intensive Blood Donation Campaign Launches from the 27th
- Shincheonji Church of Jesus fills summer vacation and holiday blood donation gap... 84-day intensive blood donation campaign
- 190,000 participants over the past 4 years, 1 billion won in donations... Korea's largest religious organization blood donation practice case
Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Chairman Lee Man-hee, hereinafter referred to as Shincheonji Church of Jesus) will conduct a nationwide Life-sharing Blood Donation Campaign for approximately 84 days from July 27 to October 18. This campaign was prepared to contribute to blood supply stabilization during a period when the blood donor population drops sharply due to summer vacation, holiday season, and Chuseok holidays.
In particular, July 27 to September 18 is designated as the "summer intensive period" when blood donations decline sharply due to sweltering heat and vacations, while September 21 to October 18 is the "Chuseok holiday period." During these periods, intensive blood donation campaigns will be conducted nationwide. The target number of participants for this campaign is 10,000 people.
A Korean Red Cross official stated, "During the summer season, group blood donations from high schools and universities decrease, and blood reserves tend to drop sharply before and after holidays, making blood donation participation during this period even more crucial. We expect this blood donation campaign to be of great help in stabilizing blood supply during the summer season."
Shincheonji Church of Jesus' blood donation campaign is not a one-time event, but rather a nationwide life-sharing practice movement that has been consistently carried out for over 10 years. In particular, over the past 4 years, approximately 190,000 believers have voluntarily participated in blood donation, and the total value of blood donation certificates they contributed amounts to over 1 billion won.
This participation is a record-breaking case that has made substantial contributions to saving countless lives, and is recognized as the largest-scale blood donation practice among domestic religious organizations.
In recognition of these achievements, Lee Man-hee, Chairman of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, received a commendation for meritorious service in blood donation from the Korean Red Cross at the "2025 Blood Donor Day" commemoration ceremony on June 13. This commendation officially recognizes not merely blood donation participation, but the contributions made over an extended period to spreading blood donation culture and ensuring stable blood supply.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus stated, "Just as it is said that one person's blood donation can save three lives, the participation of 190,000 people has delivered hope of life to countless individuals. We will continue to more actively participate in blood donation campaigns that protect the lives of our citizens, becoming a church that practices life-sharing."
