Chairman Lee Man-hee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus has recently been touring Shincheonji churches nationwide, taking the pulpit and citing Revelation 22:18-19 in every sermon, proclaiming that "one must not add to or take away from the Book of Revelation; those who do cannot enter heaven." He urges members to record the Book of Revelation in their thoughts and hearts.
In this context, Shincheonji's HQ Education Department is conducting ‘Examination to Verify If One Is Sealed' for Shincheonji members worldwide, following Chairman Lee’s intention to make all members qualified to enter heaven by sealing them with knowledge. These exams, which began online during the global COVID-19 pandemic, are now conducted in-person at church temples. Weekly exams are administered to help members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus worldwide become "walking Bibles."
A Shincheonji Church official stated: "The only way to know the true meaning and reality of Revelation is through receiving testimony from a witness who has directly seen and heard the fulfillment of all chapters of Revelation at the actual site where it was fulfilled. Today's Christians worldwide have neither seen nor heard the fulfilled reality of Revelation, so everyone from pastors to congregation members has added to or taken away from Revelation. Among all Christians worldwide, excluding Shincheonji members, there is not a single person who hasn't altered Revelation. Revelation 22:18-19 states that those who add to or take away from the Book of Revelation cannot enter heaven, yet pastors neither worry about themselves nor their congregation members doing so. How can this be considered true faith?" the official questioned.
The official continued, "Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which is labeled as heretical by the Catholic Church and Protestant denominations, has members who have all mastered the Book of Revelation. However, both Catholic and Protestant churches, from their leaders to their congregation members, have all added to or taken away from Revelation. So judge by the Bible who is truly orthodox and who is truly heretical."
The weekly Bible exams taken by all Shincheonji members focus primarily on the prophecies in the four Gospels of the New Testament and all chapters of the Book of Revelation. Shincheonji Church of Jesus explained that these exams are both a training to seal God's Word in their hearts and an act of keeping the new covenant of Revelation.
According to Shincheonji's HQ Education Department, from January to April this year, the overall average score for the exams taken by all members was 99 points, with a 97% participation rate. 99.9% of participants scored above 90 points. These figures demonstrate the members' high level of immersion in the Word and their advanced religious consciousness.
A Shincheonji Church official stated, "Today's Christians neither know nor care about the prophecies in the four Gospels of the New Testament and the words of Revelation. Yet they unconditionally label Shincheonji as heretical. However, when asked to explain why Shincheonji is heretical based on the Bible, they cannot answer. This situation is similar to what happened during Jesus's first coming." The official continued, "If Shincheonji Church's teachings are wrong, please explain why using biblical evidence. It is not right to persecute Shincheonji Church by unconditionally labeling it as heretical just because your church members are following the word of truth to Shincheonji. Did Jesus teach in the New Testament to persecute your neighbors?"
Despite the heresy controversy, former pastors who have joined Shincheonji Church of Jesus unanimously testify that "Shincheonji Church is the church that teaches and practices the Word according to the Bible." They argue that rather than unconditionally criticizing, people should evaluate Shincheonji Church based on biblical standards.
A pastor with the surname Kim, who came to acknowledge Shincheonji's teachings, said, "Christianity labels Shincheonji as heretical, but upon actually coming here, I found no other church that practices the Bible like this one." He added, "At Shincheonji, members master the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation, so the biblical knowledge of congregation members exceeds even mine as a pastor. I've discarded everything I knew before and am starting my faith anew."
Pastor Choi Gwang-seon also shared, "Although I taught the Word as a pastor, after coming to Shincheonji Church of Jesus, I realized how ignorant I was. Rather than just slandering Shincheonji, the Christian community should give congregation members the opportunity to listen and judge for themselves." He appealed, "It's a dereliction of duty for churches not to properly teach the Bible. I urge Christian leaders to be the first to listen to these teachings so that everyone on earth can know God's final work."
A Shincheonji Church official emphasized, "Just as the thirsty search for water, believers seeking truth are gathering where the true Word exists. What believers around the world should be focusing on now is using God's Word, the Bible, to distinguish between truth and falsehood by identifying who has been created according to the New Testament and Revelation, and who has mastered Revelation."
